
AFV Partners buys RocketRoute
US-based AFV Partners has fully acquired aviation software company RocketRoute from Alyssum Holdings.
The company's founders, Uwe Nitsche and Justin Coelho, will remain in their management roles.
Alyssum acquired the company in February 2020. Alyssum was a holding company for the aviation software businesses FlyVictor and RocketRoute, and was formed in 2018 by Clive Jackson. It filed for insolvency in February 2020 and sold FlyVictor via an MBO in March 2020.
AVF is a Texas-based GP headed by Tony Aquila. The GP bought a stake in Colorado-based aircraft performance and flight planning software business Aircraft Performance Group (APG) from Liberty Hall Capital Partners in January 2020.
RocketRoute said in a statement that its product portfolio will enhance the capabilities of AVF's portfolio company APG, in particular regarding its latest app, iPreFlight Genesis.
AVF was not available for comment at the time of publication.
Previous funding
RocketRoute held a seed round in October 2010, raising £220,000 from a group of business angels and high-net-worth individuals.
The company raised another seed round in June 2011 and was also backed by a group of business angels.
In April 2016, corporate venture arm Air BP bought a minority stake in the company.

RocketRoute is a software platform to assist pilots and airlines with route planning, and flight-plan submissions to aviation authorities. It has processed more than one million flights and has 150,000 registered users, according to its website.
Founded in 2010 by Uwe Nitsche and Justin Coelho, the company is based in Farnborough and has 70 employees, according to LinkedIn. It generates revenues of $36m, according to Zoominfo.
