Mavenir buys VC-backed IP Access
Mavenir Systems has acquired venture capital-backed IP Access, a UK-based provider of communication network servers.
Mavenir is a Texas-based company specialising in network software for communications service providers (CPS).
Following the deal, IP Access will operate as a business unit within Mavenir's emerging business group and is expected to develop strong synergies with Mavenir's openRAN, cloud core, edge and analytics suites.
Previous funding
Scottish Equity Partners led an £8.5m round for IP Access in 2006. Intel Capital Corporation and Rothschild & Cie Gestion also participated in the investment.
Amadeus Capital Partners backed the company leading a $10m round in 2007 and a growth capital funding round of $15m in December 2011, along with other investors including Cisco, Intel Capital, Qualcomm, Rothschild & Cie Gestion, Scottish Equity Partners and TE Connectivity.

Established in 1999, IP Access provides 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G-ready small cell servers and presence sensors.
