
Montagu to acquire ISI from Citic
Montagu Private Equity has agreed to acquire business intelligence provider ISI Emerging Markets Group.
The firm is currently investing from its sixth-generation fund, which is said to have been closed on €3.5bn in Q2 of 2020; however, the firm has declined to comment on this.
The vendors of the business are Citic Capital and Caixin Global. The management team will continue to be led by its CEO Aloisio Parente.
Completion of the sale is expected next month, subject to customary closing requirements.
Previous funding
Two businesses, EMIS and CEIC, were acquired by Euromoney Institutional Investor in 1999 and 2004, respectively.
Citic Capital Partners and Caixin acquired the two businesses from Euromoney for $180m and formed ISI in 2018.
