Stirling Square in SBO of Mettis from Saints Chamonix
Mid-market private equity company Stirling Square Capital Partners has bought UK-based aerospace components manufacturer Mettis Aerospace from British institutional investor Saints Chamonix.
For Saints Chamonix, the exit comes a decade after the GP acquired Mettis Aerospace in a carve-out from 3i-backed industrial group Mettis. 3i had bought the parent company in 1999.
During its tenure as majority owner, Stirling Square plans to grow Mettis through organic growth and acquisitions aimed at consolidation in the company's sector.
Mettis's management team, led by CEO Gordon Fraser, will remain on board as minority shareholders.
Previous funding
Saints Chamonix (then Chamonix Private Equity) took ownership of Mettis Aerospace in September 2006, through a carve-out from 3i-owned parent Mettis Group.
Company
Headquartered in Redditch, Mettis Aerospace is a manufacturer of precision forged and machined components for the aerospace industry.
