
Finance Wales-backed Creo Medical raises $8.45m
Welsh electrosurgery devices manufacturer Creo Medical has raised $8.45m from Pentax Medical, as well as existing investors Finance Wales and the Angel CoFund.
Individual angel investors also participated in the round led by Japanese endoscopic imaging devices company Pentax Medical. The investment is the third round for Creo Medical, bringing the total raised to $20.7m.
With the fresh cash in hand, Creo will continue working towards achieving US regulatory approval for its platform, as well as build on the company's current portfolio of intellectual property.
Previous funding
Finance Wales led the first investment in Creo, injecting £1.36m in May 2012. The VC followed up its investment with a £3.5m round in November 2014, alongside the Angel CoFund.

Founded in 2003, Creo is a Chepstow-based designer and developer of an electrosurgery platform, as well as instruments for endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery.

Richard Thompson led the deal for Finance Wales. David Woods is the chief marketing officer of Pentax. Craig Gulliford is the CEO of Creo.
