LDC-owned MB Aerospace buys Gentz
LDC-backed MB Aerospace (MBA) has completed the bolt-on acquisition of US-based Gentz Industries.
The transaction will widen MBA's customer base and support the company's growth in the North American market. LDC acquired MBA for £25m in 2007.
MB Aerospace specialises in the design, manufacture, test and assembly of defence and commercial aerospace systems and components. Its customers include multinationals such as Boeing. The company generates a turnover in excess of $80m and employs more than 190 people across three sites at Motherwell, Burnley and Leyland, Lancashire.
Detroit-based Gentz Industries is a manufacturer of complex, high-precision engine components for customers such as Pratt & Whitney, Hamilton Sundstrand and Rolls-Royce. The company employs about 400 people at its headquarters and across three sites in Scotland and England.
John Swarbrick is senior director at LDC and worked on the original deal in 2007.
