Carlyle and Cardinal close Ireland fund on €292m
Carlyle and Cardinal Capital Group have closed their Carlyle Cardinal Ireland Fund (CCI) on тЌ292m.
The fundraising reflects increasing confidence in the Irish economy and the establishment of a more connected private equity community, supported by local government. Read our analysis of recent developments in the Irish private equity market here.

The fund received a €125m commitment from the Irish National Pensions Reserve Fund and was also supported by Enterprise Ireland.
Investments
The vehilcle has already made an investment in luxury chocolate maker Lily O'Brien's.
CCI will target mid-cap investments in the technology, media, telecommunications, healthcare, cleantech, consumer brands, specialist manufacturing and financial services sectors.

Robert Easton is managing director and head of Carlyle's CCI team. Nigel McDermott is co-founder of Cardinal.
