Electra Partners buys two more secondaries stakes
Electra Partners has announced the acquisition of two further stakes in private equity funds for an extra £22m investment.
The announcement follows Electra's acquisition of stakes in five private equity funds from an unnamed bank for £56m in February.
The latest fund positions were acquired for £9m and £13m, and take the GP's holdings in EP I Secondary Portfolio to £78m, which has been acquired at a discount to NAV. Alex Fortescue, Chris Hanna and Tom Stenhouse led the transaction for Electra.
The EP I Secondary Portfolio is attractive as it is distributing cash, the GP said in a statement.
This year has seen Electra acquire information services provider UBM Data Services in a £160m spin-off from UBM in February. The following month, the GP enjoyed a 3x return on its investment in esure, which floated on the London Stock Exchange.
