
FTBPro raises $5.8m from VC duo
Battery Ventures and Gemini Israel Ventures have provided $5.8m to FTBPro, a fan-generated football content platform based in London.
FTBPro will use the funding to widen its global footprint.
Company
Based in London and founded in 2011, FTBPro is a football media platform for fan-generated content. The site includes support in English, German, Spanish and Italian, and targets communities across Europe and South America. FTBPro has in excess of 1,000 contributors and publishes 200 articles daily.
Users are able to read and comment on topical and opinion pieces relating to the sport. The platform gives users content creation tools and article templates to create match predictions, slideshows, player rankings and other related content.
Regular contributors are able to gain "pro" status by submitting copy of a consistently high standard. Content popularity is determined by reader rankings and FTBPro's editors.
