
Carlyle Cardinal invests in Abtran
Carlyle Cardinal Ireland has invested in business process management services company Abtran.
The cash injection will be used to invest in the company's facilities, technology, skills and resources.
The GP invested via its €292m Carlyle Cardinal Ireland fund.
Company
Abtran provides customer and business process management services. The company works with regulated service organisations to improve customer service. Typically, Abtran develops technology that enables its clients' customers to engage with the company in question via multi-channel services.
Established in 1997, the company employs 2,000 people across its offices in Cork and Dublin.
People
As part of the deal, Cardinal founder Nick Corcoran and managing director John Dolan, alongside Carlyle managing director Peter Garvey, joined Abtran's board. Michael Fitzgerald is the CEO of Abtran and Pat Ryan is the COO of the business.
