GCP-backed Fishawack in third bolt-on
Growth Capital Partners (GCP) has provided further funding to medical communications firm Fishawack to support its acquisition of Brighton-based Facilitate.
The bolt-on is the third completed by Fishawack, following the acquisition of Switzerland-based Archimed for £6m in June 2013 and the purchase of US-based JK Associates in March this year.
The acquisition sees one of Facilitate's founders, Alan Bromley, leave the company after 30 years in the sector.
Facilitate will rebrand as Fishawack-Facilitate. Post transaction, Fishawack will have a headcount of 240 – double that at the time of GCP's initial investment.
Previous funding
GCP acquired Fishawack for £13m in a secondary buyout in April 2013 from YFM Equity Partners. YFM enjoyed a 2x return on its original investment, which took place in 2008 in a £6m management buyout.
Company
Established in 2002 and based in Brighton, Facilitate is a medical communications business. The company has worked with global pharmaceutical clients in the US and Europe.
People
