
Certivox raises $8m series-B
London-based Certivox, an encryption and information security business backed by Octopus Investments, has raised an $8m series-B round.
NTT Docomo Ventures, the venture arm of the eponymous Japanese mobile service provider, also participated in the round, marking the investor's first transaction in Europe.
The company will use the fresh funding to boost the development of its software.
Previous funding
In March 2011, Octopus Investments participated in the firm's £1.5m series-A round alongside Pentech Ventures. The second tranche of the round was completed in November 2011.
The firm is understood to have raised $17m in total, through seed, series-A and series-B funding rounds.

Founded in 2008 and based in London, CertiVox is a software company that offers encryption and information security. CertiVox is developing a software-based authentication platform that replaces password authentication without the need for third-party authentication devices.
