
Longwall Ventures launches £40m tech fund
Longwall Ventures has launched its second fund, Longwall Ventures Enterprise Capital Fund (ECF), targeting £40m for investments in UK science and technology companies.
The fund has been set up in conjunction with Capital For Enterprise Ltd (CfEL), the UK government's fund-of-funds business. It is CfEL's 12th fund.
Investors
The vehicle received £25m from the UK government, while the remaining £15m was sourced from institutional investors and private individuals from the UK.
Investments
Longwall Ventures ECF will invest in science, technology and engineering-focused SMEs across the UK. The fund intends to invest in 15-20 companies over the course of the coming 3-5 years.
People
Partner Michael Penington will manage the fund on behalf of Longwall. Rory Earley is CEO of CfEL.
