Ingenious Ventures leads $500,000 for Woto
Ingenious Ventures has led a $500,000 seed funding round for Woto.com, a UK content publishing platform.
Ingenious was joined in the round by Turkish business angel group Galata Business Angels.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to launch its platform, which has been in beta since earlier this year.
Company
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in London, Woto has developed a content publishing platform that allows it to create free, single-page URLs that users fill with their own content to share on social media. It claims it is designed to "bridge the online publishing gap" between tweets, which it says are too small, and blogs and websites, which it says are too big.
Woto claims its webpages have been created in 120 countries and shared 80,000 times. Its most popular webpages are posters, CVs, ads and online invitations.
People
Ian Collins is the CEO of Woto.
