
Agathos sets up shop with £20m fund
New private equity firm Agathos has announced the closing of its first fund on £20m.
Former Rcapital senior executive William de Laszlo, Better Capital investment director Charles Oakshett and corporate financier Henry Wrigley have set up the fund.
The Agathos team currently manages investments in design and manufacturing company Harwin, aviation business Private Fly, chartered surveying firm Plowman Craven and Hungarian wine company Royal Tokaji.
Investors
Three family offices have committed to the fund and may co-invest in larger deals alongside Agathos.
Investments
The Agathos fund will commit between £500,000-5m per transaction, typically investing £2-3m per portfolio company overall. The group will focus on UK SMEs with turnover of up to £30m in a variety of sectors.
The company plans to conduct management buy-outs, management buy-ins and recapitalisations.
People
William de Laszlo is managing partner of the fund, while Henry Wrigley is investment director.
