Antin picks up Roadchef
Antin Infrastructure Partners has acquired UK motorway service operator Roadchef from previous owner Delek Group.
The deal saw Israel-based Delek selling its 100% interest in the company in a deal understood to be worth £153m.
Company
Roadchef operates 28 motorway service areas in the UK. It offers food and beverages through franchise agreements with brands including Costa, McDonalds, WHSmith and KrispyKreme.
The company employs 2,700 people and claims to receive 44 million visits each year. Roadchef serves one million breakfasts a year, sells 500,000 portions of fish and chips, and five million coffees.
Roadchef more recently brought in own-brand offerings, which saw all Restbite outlets rebranded to Fresh Food Café.
The Staffordshire-headquartered company opened its first service station in the Watford Gap in 1959.
