Longwall invests £2.6m in CTC
Longwall Ventures has led a ТЃ2.6m funding round for Cambridge Temperature Concepts (CTC), a UK developer of fertility monitoring devices.
The capital will be used by CTC to bolster its sales activities in the US and further develop its DuoFertility tracker product, with plans to make the product compatible with smartphones.
Longwall is an Oxford-based venture capital firm that currently manages the £40m Longwall Ventures enterprise capital fund (ECF), which received a £25m commitment from the UK government's Capital for Enterprise and a further £15m from private investors.
The fund began investing in November 2012. It focuses its investments in early-stage businesses operating within the engineering and science industries.
Previous funding
In January 2008, CTC secured £375,000 in early-stage funding from Cambridge Capital Group, Cambridge Angels and members of the Downing Enterprise board.
Company
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Cambridge, CTC has developed DuoFertility, a non-invasive fertility monitoring device. The product is designed to track and analyse a woman's fertility cycle to pinpoint the best time for natural conception.
People
Claire Hooper is the CEO of CTC. Longwall partner Matthew Frohn sits on the company's board of directors.
