CBPE Capital has acquired a majority stake in sofa.com in a deal thought to be worth around £50m.
CBPE will support sofa.com's plans to open new showrooms across the UK over the next five years.
Company
Established in 2005, sofa.com is a multi-channel retailer of sofas, armchairs and beds. The company controls its supply chain, from manufacturing to delivery.
In the year ending in February 2014, sofa.com reported EBITDA of £5.3m on sales of £20.2m.

Gareth Williams is CEO of sofa.com. The deal was led by Anne Hoffman, Jolyon Latimer, Naveen Passi and Rob McCombie of CBPE.
Former Mappin & Webb boss Justin Stead has been named as the company's new chairman.
