Also taking part in the round were Faber Ventures, Nexus Ventures and Kima Ventures, as well as Anand Babu Periasamy.

Company
Gitter is built on top of developer collaboration service GitHub, which was created by Mike Bartlett in January 2013, a former product developer at Skype.
Gitter currently counts 200,000 registered users across 30,000 public chat communities. GitHub is an open source tool for cloud developers; prior to Gitter, real-time conversations were not possible between GitHub community users.
Gitter allows programmers to create or join chat rooms based around code repositories on GitHub. The majority of Gitter's communities are formed around public code and open-source projects.
