
Osprey commits funding to GovToday’s series-A
Venture capital firm Osprey Capital has led a £500,000 series-A round for Manchester-based public sector media platform GovToday.
Maven Capital Partners provided co-investment via the Greater Manchester Loan Fund.
The fresh capital will be used to develop new product offerings and to enhance the content currently produced in terms of video and distribution across social media. The company is also planning on making new hires in order to expand.
Previous funding
GovToday raised more than £700,000 last year, including an initial investment round from Osprey and a grant from the North West Fund for Digital and Creative.
Company
Founded by Tony Farrar and Rob Hollis, GovToday relocated to Media City in Manchester last year. The online portal engages with the public, private and third sectors in order to communicate government initiatives and policies across a range of fields. It also incorporates a programme of events and conferences. GovToday employs more than 40 people.
