
Isis commits £5m to Create Health
Isis Equity Partners has invested ТЃ5m in London-based fertility clinic Create Health.
The equity investment was made through the Baronsmead VCTs and is in line with Isis's focus on healthcare, which is the second most represented sector in the GP's portfolio according to unquote" data.
Spectrum Corporate Finance introduced the GP to the company. The investment will enable the firm to open a flagship clinic.
The firm will also open a European centre, which will have capacity for at least 3,000 IVF cycles and an infrastructure to educate clinicians in the company's approach to IVF. Further clinics will be opened on a domestic and international scale.
Company
Founded in 2000 and based in London, Create Health is a fertility clinic that specialises in natural and mild in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and in vitro maturation (IVM). Natural and mild IVF use lower levels of drugs and are designed to be cheaper and safer for both mother and baby. The approach is in line with recent guidelines published by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence, which recommended reduced levels of drug stimulation.
Fertility services are provided from clinics in Harley Street and West Wimbledon. The company employs around 30 members of staff and delivers in excess of 800 IVF cycles per year.
People
Neil McCausland, current chair of Skin Clinics and Snow & Rock, and non-executive director of the Post Office, joins Create Health as chairman. Philippe Houssiau, former CEO of Alliance Medical, joins the firm as non-executive director.
