DFJ Esprit exits Redkite
VC firm DFJ Esprit has exited its minority holding in UK-based financial markets surveillance specialist Redkite Financial Markets.
The business was acquired by NASDAQ-listed company Nice Systems. DFJ was invested from its Esprit Fund III vehicle. This was DFJ's 16th exit since January 2010; others included LoveFilm, Icera and The Cloud.
Previous investment
DFJ invested in Redkite in a series-A round in July 2011 to fund the launch of the company's real-time software solution for the surveillance of financial markets.
Company
Redkite has developed a cloud-based technology for the surveillance of financial markets called Redeye. The software allows financial institutions to detect suspicious transactions and trading behaviour in real time. The company was founded in London in 2009 and has around 30 staff.
