Balderton holds first close at $430m

Balderton Capital has raised $430m at the first closing of its new fund Balderton IV. The fund has a target of $500m. No financial details or terms have been disclosed. Balderton raised $550m in December 2006, $375m in July 2004 and $500m in May 2000.

Investments

The fund will focus on technology and media investments. In the past, Balderton made investments in sectors such as healthcare, consumer and technology.

Balderton invests in continental Europe, UK and Ireland, Scandinavia, China, USA and Russia. The firm makes investments from $100,000 to in excess of $50m, with initial investments between $1-15m.
