
Earth Capital holds first close of EUR750m fund
Fund
Earth Capital Partners has held an undisclosed first close of its renewable energy infrastructure fund, ECP Renewable Energy Fund One, which has a target of EUR750m. The fund has a 20-year lifespan, with the option for a 10-year break; terms and conditions are industry standard with management fees at 2% and carry at 20%. The vehicle is expected to hold a final close in November 2010.
Investors
The new fund is targeting institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign funds and high-net-worth individuals.
Investments
ECP Renewable Energy Fund One will look to invest in solar, biogas and biomass projects in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Earth Capital Partners has appointed Germany-based EON Climate & Renewables to act as the fund's main industrial services provider and to potentially contribute to the vehicle's investment opportunities.
