Specialist media investor Sutton Place Managers has led a £4.25m investment into digital media delivery company 7digital, alongside existing investor Balderton Capital. The new investment will be used to continue the organic growth of the business, particularly through ongoing product development and overseas expansion.

Company

7digital offers consumers access to a wide variety of music and video downloads on behalf of record labels, artists, film and TV companies and retail/brand partners. The business has generated an impressive client base since its inception in 2004, including Universal, EMI, the British Film Institute, Channel 5, Warner Music, MTV, Sony BMG, V2 and Pringles. The company is based in London and has an office in Cologne, Germany.

People

Mark Getty and Mark Evans led the investment for Sutton Place and Balderton respectively, with Sutton Place partner Patrick Maxwell joining the 7digital board. Ben Drury is the CEO of the company.
