Balderton Capital et al. invest $13.4m in Urturn
Balderton Capital has led a series-A fundraising round of $13.4m for Urturn, a UK social media platform.
Balderton led the investment round with $10.7m. The private equity arm of Debiopharm Group provided the remaining $2.7m.
Urturn launched its mobile app in conjunction with the announcement of this latest funding round.
Balderton has previously backed firms including Bebo, Lovefilm, Betfair, Wooga and Friend.ly.

Urturn is a London-based social media platform start-up, focused on the music and entertainment industry. Urturn also has offices in Lausanne and Palo Alto.
People
Stelio Tzonis is the CEO at Urturn. Balderton's founding partner Barry Maloney will join Urturn's board as part of the agreement.
