NVM nets 3.6x return on e-know sale
NVM Private Equity has sold IT services firm e-know.net to AIM-listed cloud computing provider Nasstar for ТЃ13m.
NVM enjoyed a 3.6x return on its original investment.
The acquisition will allow e-know.net to reach a wider range of businesses and will accelerate the firm's growth in the hosted desktop and managed applications market, NVM said in a statement.
Previous funding
According to unquote" data, e-know.net has had private equity backing since 2001, when 3i invested an undisclosed sum for a 25% stake in the company. The following year, 3i committed a further €1.9m to the business.
In 2004, NVM entered the company's shareholding via a secondary purchase that saw 3i exit the firm, according to unquote" data. The investor injected £1.5m into e-know.
Company
Founded in 2000 and based in Telford, e-know provides a cloud service package including hosted desktop and exchange services. The company also hosts internet-based telephony systems and managed networks and user support services.
The legal, financial services and recruitment sectors make up much of the firm's customer base. e-know has 103 managed-service clients.
