Midven in second round for Fertility Focus
Midven has joined angel investors in a seven-figure funding round for fertility diagnosis and treatment firm Fertility Focus.
Midven invested through the Midven Exceed Fund, which holds capital commitments totalling £18m and backs businesses in the West Midlands. Angel investors including Angel Co Fund and the firm's strategic partner and US distributor Norgenix provided the remaining capital.
The investment will support the company in obtaining approval for its key product to be used across the globe.
Previous funding
In 2010, Midven invested £375,000 into the firm through the Exceed Fund, as part of a £775,000 funding round. Norgenix also contributed to the round alongside private investors.
Company
Founded in 2005 and based in Warwickshire, Fertility Focus has developed a fertility monitor that identifies a woman's most fertile period to help couples conceive. The company's products are also able to detect fertility issues and helps clinicians carry out early diagnosis and correction of abnormalities of the female reproductive organs.
