Delta et al. invest €500,000 in Popdeem
Delta Partners, Enterprise Ireland and several angel investors have injected €500,000 into Popdeem, an Irish social network marketing platform.
The fresh capital will be used to expand Popdeem's work force. The company also hopes to bolster its brand partnership base.
Popdeem is believed to have previously secured $150,000 in seed funding from Enterprise Ireland and Wayra, Telefonica's tech accelerator, in September 2012.
Earlier this year, Delta led a $6m funding round for Cleverbug, the Dublin-based developer of a greetings card app, alongside Enterprise Ireland.
Company
Founded in 2012 and located in Dublin, Popdeem was originally developed as a social rewards app. The company now offers social marketing software that is designed to bolster peer-to-peer engagement for brands on social networks.
Brands incorporate the software into their existing mobile apps. The premise of the software is to allow brands to "reward" users for sharing experiences – such as "checking in" on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and sharing photos – at the brands' events.
