Index Ventures, SET Ventures (formerly Chrysalix SET) and other backers have sold London-based internet-of-things company AlertMe to British Gas in a £65m (€85m) deal.

Prior to that, the company had raised £8m in a June 2009 funding round from Index, VantagePoint, SET and Good Energies.
