Ingenious invests £750,000 in Digital Theatre
Ingenious Ventures has injected ТЃ750,000 into Digital Theatre, a London-based filming company for theatrical productions.
The investment was made through the Media Opportunities Fund.
Patrick McKenna recently made a personal investment of £250,000 in Digital Theatre.
Company
Founded in 2008 and based in London, Digital Theatre films live theatre performances for users to download or stream online. The company has filmed 14 productions to date since 2009 and partnered with several theatre companies including the RSC and the Almeida Theatre.
Digital Theatre's core revenue stream is online rentals and downloads. The company also distributes third party content, with Shakespeare's Globe as its first partner in this area. The firm also offers subscription access for schools and universities worldwide. Further revenues are predicted in overseas franchises, broadcast opportunities and screenings.
