JC Flowers injects £65m into mortgage business Castle Trust
US private equity investor JC Flowers has committed ТЃ65m in equity to the launch of Castle Trust, a provider of retail mortgages.
Castle Trust's funds will be used to provide funding in the mortgage market.
Company
Castle Trust is a newly launched financial institution that provides retail mortgages, while facilitating the sharing of costs and profits.
The company offers partnership mortgages for 20% of the value of the inhabited house, as well as repayment mortgages for up to 60% and a deposit of at least 20%. A home sale by the end of the mortgage period will result in a 40% profit share through Castle Trust.

Castle Trust's executive team and board includes Sir Callum McCarthy (former chairman of the FSA and non-executive director of HM Treasury), Rt Hon John Gummer (former secretary of state for the environment) and Dame Deirdre Hutton CBE (non-executive director of HM Treasury and former chair of the National Consumer Council and deputy chair of the FSA).
