HgCapital completes financing for Wandylaw wind project
HgCapital has completed the financing for a 20.5MW wind project in Northumberland, England, in cooperation with its portfolio company RidgeWind.
Royal Bank of Scotland acted as mandated lead arranger and hedging bank, providing £36m in construction and term loan project financing.
Upon completion of this deal, HgCapital's total investment in European renewable energy projects will exceed €1.5bn.
Company
The Wandylaw wind project was developed by HgCapital's portfolio company RidgeWind, which was acquired in June 2007.
Wandylaw will consist of 10 REpower MM92 wind turbines. Construction will start in late May 2012, with the wind park being operational by early 2013.
