
Passion Capital et al. invest $8m in Digital Shadows
Passion Capital, Storm Ventures and TenEleven Ventures have invested $8m in Digital Shadows, a UK cyber security firm.
Several business angels, including former RSA chief technology officer Tim Belcher, also took part in the transaction. Storm Ventures led the round.
Digital Shadows will use the fresh capital to open its first overseas offices, located in San Francisco and New York. The office openings establish the launch of Digital Shadows Inc and bolster the company's activities in the US market.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson announced the funding round at the Grand Central Tech event in New York on 11 February.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in London, Digital Shadows is a provider of cyber security services for businesses.
Its software monitors 80 million sources in 26 languages to detect leaked data, stolen intellectual property and identify potentially hostile cybercrime groups, among other possible threats to businesses and individuals.

Alastair Paterson is the CEO of Digital Shadows. Ryan Floyd is a founding managing director of Storm Ventures.
