BGF and NVM’s Wear Inns expands
Wear Inns, a portfolio company of the British Growth Fund (BGF) and NVM Private Equity, has acquired nine pubs from TCG Bars.
The two GPs backed the company with £10m for a minority stake in May 2012. NVM had been invested in the business since it provided £3m of early-stage funding in 2006.
Wear Inns now consists of a total of 24 pubs and has plans to acquire a further four North East and Yorkshire establishments this year. All pubs are company managed and staffed but remain unbranded. The company said in a statement it will invest capital in its pubs and introduce new retail trading formats in the near future. The business previously bought the Cross Keys Washington pub from TCG in 2009.
