Perusa-backed PPG buys Sharples & Grant
Perusa Partners-backed PPG Pet Products Group has bought UK-based pet product retailer Sharples & Grant.
The holding company, which already owns Flamingo and Karlie, seeks to benefit from trade synergies between the three businesses. The acquisition was part of PPG's plans to globalise.

PPG was founded in 2009 when Perusa acquired Karlie. The company manufactures and retails more than 8,000 pet products and employs 1,500 people. Its headquarters are in Bad Wünnenberg-Haaren.
Sharples & Grant develops and retails products for dogs, cats, small animals and aquariums. The company was established in 2005 and is based in Southport.

Christopher Höfener is a founding partner at Perusa. Bryan Sharples and Robin Grant will continue in their positions as managing directors and partners at Sharples & Grant.
