Enterprise Ventures fund backs Centaur
The North West Fund for Venture Capital, managed by Enterprise Ventures, has backed a ТЃ750,000 funding round for Centaur Technologies alongside the Lancashire Rosebud Fund.
North West Fund contributed £500,000 to the round, with the remaining sum committed by Rosebud.
The Rosebud Fund is a debt vehicle, also managed by Enterprise, which invests in companies based in Lancashire. The fund typically supplies £15,000-150,000 in notes with a five-year maturity.
Company
Centaur was founded in 2010 and is based in Leyland. The company develops liquid roofing systems for treating new and old roofs. Centaur claims its products reduce environmental impact and are cheaper than existing, similar products.
People
Jeremy Gorick, Phil Richardson and Bob Stanfield are the founders of Centaur. Investment manager Paul Ferguson and investment director Paul Taberner manage business loans for Enterprise, including the Rosebud fund, while technology investment head Julian Viggars and Richard Young, the manager of the North West Fund for Venture Capital, manage the firm's venture capital funds.
David Gill, a former senior partner at Moore & Smalley, joined Centaur's board as a non-executive director.
