
RJD secures marine engineering co-investment
RJD Partners has invested £11m in the management buyout of Burgess Marine, a provider of marine engineering services.
RJD invested through new vehicle RJD Burgess; one of the fund's LPs, F&C Private Equity, backed the deal along with other co-investors.
Company
Based in Dover, Burgess provides ship maintenance, repair, new-build construction and refit services from a number of sites across the south coast, with an additional base in Palma, Mallorca.
Customers include BAE Systems, Babcock International, Canrival and Serco.
The company employs 130 people. In the year ending on 31 March 2014, Burgess generated turnover of £25m.
