Graphite backs MBO of National Fostering Agency
Graphite Capital has acquired childcare service National Fostering Agency (NFA) from Sovereign Capital in a deal reported to be worth around ТЃ130m.
Graphite also provided additional expansion capital as part of the deal.
Previous funding
Sovereign acquired NFA for an undisclosed amount in 2006. The company started its growth strategy by acquiring The Foster Care Agency in March 2008. In April 2009, the investor provided further funding for the bolt-on of Children First Fostering Agency, Alliance Foster Care and Alpha Plus Fostering. NFA made its fifth add-on acquisition in November 2010 with National Fostering Agency Partnerships.
Since Sovereign's investment, the number of foster children placements has doubled.

NFA is an independent fostering agency, providing care for children from its 16 offices nationwide. The company is headquartered in London and currently employs 291 people. It's revenues amount to £54.2m with an EBITDA of £3.5m.
