Atlantic Healthcare raises $24m from LDC et al.
Cambridge-based gastrointestinal healthcare company Atlantic Healthcare has raised $24m from LDC, as well as existing and new non-institutional sources of capital.
In addition to LDC, the founders of Salix Pharmaceuticals participated, as did the family office Fullbrook Thorpe Investments and existing investors Envestors and the Angel Co-Fund.
The capital injection will support the phase-3 clinical trials of Atlantic's alicaforsen product for the treatment of pouchitis and other inflammatory bowel diseases, as well as filing for regulatory approval of the product in North America and Europe.
The investment is the third round of funding raised by Atlantic Healthcare, having received €1.5m from Envestors and others in November 2010, followed by an undisclosed injection from the Angel Co-Fund in 2013.
