Video Interview: 3i's Michael Queen
The private equity landscape has changed since the financial crisis, and firms will need to adopt new strategies to make a success of their portfolio companies, according to 3i's chief executive, Michael Queen.
Speaking to unquote's head of research Emanuel Eftimiu, Queen said a lack of debt availability and other factors mean the tried and tested models of the past may not be as effective in the future.
He believes it is vital for investors to ensure they create real value from their portfolio companies to get the best returns. Private equity firms should also look for solid investments that can provide a platform to expand into the rapidly-growing economies of Asia and elsewhere.
