
E.Ventures appoints Hernández as general partner
E.Ventures has appointed Spanish former entrepreneur Bernardo Hernández as general partner.
Hernández was head of Yahoo-owned image hosting website Flickr until April 2015. Earlier, he was director of products at Google, where he led the Zagat acquisition and run the Zagat team until his departure from Google in May 2013.
Hernández co-founded Spanish real estate platform Idealista in 2000. He was an angel investor in companies such as social networking site Tuenti and Wallapop, which is an app for the sale of second-hand products.
Hernández also founded StepOne Ventures in 2008 and led it for five years. The VC helps tech companies from Spain get established in the US.
E.Venture's new general partner spent five years as an analyst and portfolio manager in the asset management industry with Fidelity Investments, BBVA and Putnam Investments.
Parallel to the appointment, E.Ventures also announced the closing of its fifth European fund this week.
