CVC hires JP Morgan's Petty as head of European healthcare
CVC Capital Partners has hired Cathrin Petty as a partner and head of European healthcare.
Petty will be based in CVC's London office to lead the firm's investment efforts in European healthcare. She has held several non-executive positions at health organisations in the past, including the UK's NHS (in the Strategic Health Authority for Greater London), Circassia Pharmaceuticals, Icon, Qualitest and Zeneus Pharma.
Petty joins from JP Morgan, where she was head of healthcare in EMEA. She has remained focused on healthcare throughout her private equity career, including stints at Vitruvian Partners as a special partner and as partner at Apax in the healthcare/life sciences team.
CVC's latest investment in the European healthcare space was the acquisition of Italian pharmaceutical business Doc Generici from Charterhouse Capital Partners in March via the CVC European Equity Partners VI fund. Details of the transaction remained undisclosed, but according to press reports at the time, the business was valued at between €650-680m.
