Ropes & Gray hires leveraged finance partner
Law firm Ropes & Gray has hired finance lawyer Malcolm Hitching as a partner in its London office.
Hitching joins from his position of partner at Herbert Smith Freehills, where he was also UK and EMEA head of finance in London. He had been at the firm since 2003, and prior to that worked at Norton Rose Fulbright.
He specialises in corporate financings, restructurings and acquisition- and event-driven finance, with a particular focus on the European leveraged finance and private equity finance markets, acting for both sponsors and financial institutions. On the private equity front, besides buyouts and public-to-privates, Hitching also works on fund financing.
Ropes & Gray already added to its London private equity team in recent months, as it appointed Helen Croke as a partner in its London office in May. Croke left her role as partner in the private equity and M&A team at Travers Smith after spending 17 years with the firm.
