Ropes & Gray appoints three to London office
International law firm Ropes & Gray has appointed Alex Lewis, Bevis Metcalfe and Alexander Robb in its London office.
Lewis specialises in M&A transactions with a particular focus on private equity. He has experience advising private equity houses and other financial investors on buyouts, minority investments and consortium arrangements, as well as on restructurings, portfolio company issues, IPOs and disposals.
Metcalfe represents credit funds, private equity sponsors and other alternative capital providers with a focus on complex restructurings and leveraged financings. He has experience advising on large- and mid-cap financing transactions, and alternative lending, as well as distressed acquisitions and recapitalisations across a range of industry sectors.
Robb is specialised in UK and international acquisition financing, restructuring and corporate refinancing. He has previously advised investment banks, commercial banks, private equity sponsors and publicly listed companies on transactions in sectors ranging from infrastructure to hospitality and telecommunications.
Their appointment forms part of a wider hiring spree at the legal firm, which saw 11 lawyers being named as partners and six as counsel. Of these, two partners and three counsels will be London-based.
