RBS International appoints Brown to lead expansion in alternative funds
RBS International has appointed Peter Brown as its new head of funds as part of the bank's growth plans.
It is hoped Brown will be able to drive growth in the bank's offering to the alternative funds sector. He will lead a funds banking team that supports fund managers and administrators in the UK, Jersey and Guernsey, as well as expanding business in Luxembourg, where RBS International has recently secured a banking licence. It plans to have a branch open in March.
Since 2014, Brown has led the RBS Financial Institutions Group, which included the RBS funds banking business in London. From 2007-2014, he was managing director of RBS Financial Institutions UK, which provides offshore banking to insurance firms, funds, lenders, brokers and intermediaries.
He was also a founding member of the RBS mid-market leveraged finance business, providing debt in buyout transactions alongside private equity sponsors. He has been at the bank since 1997.
