HIG Capital hires Citi's Borton
US-headquartered private equity firm HIG Capital has hired Kenneth Borton as a managing director in its London office.
Borton will be a managing director at WhiteHorse Capital, the direct lending arm of HIG, where he will be responsible for growing the firm's European activities.
Prior to joining the GP, Borton spent 17 years at Citigroup in various roles. Since 2014, he was a managing director in the London-based mezzanine finance and direct lending team, managing approximately $500m, mainly in the EMEA region. He began his career at Citi in 1999, joining Salomon Brothers as an analyst.
Before joining Citi he served in the British Army for six years.
