PSP Investment launches London-based European office
Canadian pension investment manager Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP Investments) has launched a London office to oversee its European investments.
The firm primarily invests in private equity, private debt, infrastructure and real estate. It has worked alongside firms including BC Partners, Permira, CVC Capital Partners, Partners Group and Segro European Logistics Partnership.
The new office, located in one of the firm's majority-owned London real estate assets, currently has a headcount of 28. The European team is led by managing director of private equity Simon Marc, managing director of principal debt and credit investments Oliver Duff, managing director of infrastructure investments Patrick Charbonneau and managing director of real estate investments Stéphane Jalbert.
The move forms part of PSP's plans to increase its exposure to the European market. As of September 2016, the group had C$125.8bn in assets under management across its offices in Ottawa, Montréal, New York and London.
PSP's previous deals include a private equity investment in clinical pathology laboratories operator Cerba Healthcare, a real estate investment made alongside Aviva in 12 central London office buildings, and an infrastructure investment in private industrial airport group AviAlliance.
