
Oakley reaches €750m hard-cap
Oakley Capital has reached the €750m hard-cap for its latest vehicle Oakley Capital Private Equity III, unquote" understands.
The firm has also asked investors for approval to raise the hard-cap, a source has confirmed.
The total raised by the GP for its latest fund is considerably higher than the €524m raised for its 2013-vintage predecessor.
According to publicly available documents, the GP itself had committed €325m to the fund as of November 2016.
Oakley's funds look to acquire controlling stakes in businesses with enterprise values of £20-100m. The GP primarily targets investments in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy, with a particular focus on the consumer digital segment and the technology, media and telecommunications space.
The latest fund made its maiden investment in December 2016, acquiring two real estate advertising websites, Italian portal Casa.it and Luxembourg-based AtHome.lu.
