Hayfin raises €2.2bn for special opportunities
Credit player Hayfin Capital Management has raised тЌ2.2bn for its special opportunities strategy.
The credit specialist will use the €2.2bn fund to invest in illiquid, undervalued hard assets and corporate debt structures including rescue financings and debt restructuring scenarios. Credit Suisse Private Fund Group acted as exclusive adviser to Hayfin for its special opportunities capital raise.
Hayfin received the commitments from new and existing institutional investors worldwide, including public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies and endowments.
The news of this latest fundraising comes on the back of the lender's €3.6bn capital raise for its European direct lending strategy earlier in 2017. Through its direct lending strategy, Hayfin extends loans at the senior-secured level of the capital structure to performing European mid-market companies.
